Built for Future Building Performance Standards
Cities and states across the country, including Columbus, Ohio, New York, and California, are raising the bar on building energy performance. New Building Performance Standards will require commercial and industrial facilities to meet specific energy use intensity (EUI) targets, with deadlines that are closer than they appear. Benchmarking is the first step, and data collection is key.
Gazebo Connect gives you the interval-level data foundation that BPS compliance is built on. Capture exactly how and when your facility uses energy with the granularity needed to understand your current EUI, identify where performance gaps exist, and track progress. Complete energy data is available for reporting at any time, giving you the accuracy needed to submit compliance numbers with confidence.

Frequently Asked Questions
Getting Started
I just lost access to my previous energy data tool. Is this a replacement?
Yes. If your previous interval data tool has been discontinued, Gazebo Connect provides all the same core capabilities — interval data visibility, demand tracking, and reporting — plus significant upgrades including real-time monitoring, predictive analytics, and expert support. It’s designed to get you back up and running quickly.
How long until I have live data?
The longest lead time is completing the utility meter communication port installation, which your utility handles. Once this connection is established, our metering hardware typically takes 1-2 hours per meter to install. After installation, data begins flowing to your Gazebo dashboard immediately.
Who handles installation?
Your facility team or preferred contractor handles the physical installation. We provide all metering hardware, comprehensive installation documentation, and step-by-step guidance throughout the process. Our team is available to support your installer and ensure everything is configured correctly.
Do I need to do anything to prepare my facility?
Minimal preparation is required. Most facilities need only standard electrical access (120VAC) near the utility meter. During onboarding, we’ll walk you through any specific site requirements. Data & Platform
Is there a trial or pilot option before committing to a 36-month term?
We don’t currently offer a trial period, but we’re happy to walk you through a live demo of the platform before you commit. Request a demo.
Data & Platform
What interval resolution do I get?
All packages provide 15-minute interval resolution with real-time updates every 15 minutes, enabling more granular analysis and faster response to energy events.
How far back is historical data stored?
All packages include 24 months of stored historical data. The Partner tier extends this to 36 months of in-platform viewing and unlimited data export, so you can maintain a complete historical record for trend analysis, auditing, and long-term performance tracking.
Can I export data for my own analysis or reporting?
Absolutely. All packages include full data export capabilities to CSV, Excel, and PDF formats. Your data belongs to you—always. Unlike many platforms that retain data rights, Gazebo Connect ensures complete data sovereignty, giving you the freedom to analyze, share, and archive your energy data as needed.
Is my data secure?
Yes. Gazebo is built with enterprise-grade security. Gazebo is SOC 2 Type II certified and has maintained this certification through annual audits since 2019. All data is encrypted at rest using AES-256 and in transit using TLS, protecting your energy data whether it’s being stored or transmitted. Learn more about our data security policy here: https://gazebo.works/data-security/
Can multiple people on my team access the platform?
Yes. User seats are included with each package: Monitor includes 5 users, Optimize includes 10, and Partner includes 20. This allows cross-functional collaboration between operations, maintenance, engineering, and executive teams. Need additional users? Contact your account manager; we’re happy to accommodate growing teams.
Can Gazebo integrate with our building management system?
Yes. BMS integration is available for an additional one-time fee. Contact us to discuss your specific BMS platform, integration requirements, and pricing.
What does "revenue-grade metering" mean, and why does it matter?
Revenue-grade metering meets utility-level accuracy standards (typically ±0.5% or better). This level of precision is essential for three reasons: (1) you can trust your data for financial decisions and ROI calculations, (2) it’s defensible for audits, compliance reporting, and investor communications, and (3) it’s accepted for utility bill validation and demand response programs. Lower-grade meters can’t deliver the confidence needed for high-stakes decisions.
What types of facilities is Gazebo Connect designed for?
Gazebo Connect is purpose-built for industrial and commercial facilities with significant energy consumption, complex rate structures, or strict compliance requirements. This includes manufacturing plants, food processing facilities, warehouses and distribution centers, multi-tenant commercial buildings, data centers, and cold storage operations. If managing demand charges, verifying energy projects, or demonstrating ESG progress matters to your operations, Gazebo Connect is designed for you.
If your building is subject to a local Building Performance Standard — such as Columbus’s benchmarking and EUI requirements — Gazebo Connect provides the interval data foundation compliance depends on.
Can I use one system for both demand charge management and BPS compliance reporting?
Yes, and that’s exactly how Gazebo Connect is designed. The same 15-minute interval data that lets you manage demand charges also provides the granular consumption record you need to track EUI progress, document efficiency improvements, and generate audit-ready reports. You’re not buying a compliance tool and a cost management tool separately; you’re buying visibility once and using it for both.
Pricing & Terms
What are "utility metering fees"?
Some utilities charge separately for interval data services or advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) access. These fees are set and billed directly by your utility company, not by Gazebo. Our bundled monthly price covers all hardware and software.
Are there hidden fees?
No. Our bundled monthly price covers all metering hardware, software licensing, platform support, and ongoing updates. The only additional costs are installation labor ( which you arrange with your team or contractor), optional add-ons, and any utility-imposed metering fees. We provide transparent pricing upfront.
What if I want to upgrade my package later?
You have complete flexibility to change packages. Upgrades are prorated and take effect immediately, so you can start accessing advanced features right away. Downgrades take effect at the start of your next billing cycle. Simply reach out to your account manager to make a change.
Support
What ongoing support do I get?
All packages include comprehensive platform support, automatic software updates, and continuous data quality monitoring. Our team is available Monday through Friday, 8am–5pm Pacific, and reachable at support@gazebo.works. You’ll receive an acknowledgement within one business day, with critical issues investigated within 30 minutes. Gazebo maintains 99% uptime on a rolling 365-day basis and keeps documentation and training materials updated as new features are released.
What if a meter has an issue?
All hardware components are warranted for the full 3-year contract term, beginning from the procurement date. Cascade Energy maintains on-hand inventory of replacement units. If a component fails, we can ship a standard replacement within 24-48 hours, minimizing any disruption to your data collection.
Can you help me actually reduce energy costs — not just see the data?
Absolutely. That’s where our tiered approach shines. The Optimize package includes project management tools to track, prioritize, and measure energy savings initiatives. The Partner package goes further, providing 2 hours of annual consulting with Cascade Energy’s expert team—engineers and energy managers with 30+ years of experience helping industrial and commercial customers achieve measurable, lasting savings. We help you move from visibility to action to verified results.
